It is said that during World War II, due to supply shortages, the government-owned Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation purposely reduced the size of beer glasses to make each sip feel more precious.

One 600ml bottle of Taiwan Beer fills about four 143cc glasses.

“You cheers, I sip” has since become a warm and familiar way for Taiwanese people to connect with one another.
