Beer comes in many varieties around the world, and so do beer glasses — in all shapes and sizes.
In Taiwan, the most iconic size is the 143cc beer glass!
Although 143cc is not an official standard, it’s considered the perfect volume for preserving beer freshness.

Legend has it that during World War II, due to material shortages, the Monopoly Bureau intentionally reduced the size of beer glasses — so people would savor every drop and crave more.

A single 600ml bottle of Taiwan Beer fills about four 143cc glasses.
“Cheers to you, I’ll sip at my own pace” (你乾杯，我隨意) has become a heartwarming way for Taiwanese people to connect.
