Like a mark of an era, patterned pressed glass comes in many styles — diamond, double grid, fragmented patterns, cross shapes, water ripple designs... Each motif represents a certain aesthetic of its time. These can be seen not only in Taiwan but also at European landmarks, featuring geometric or pebble-like textured pressed glass.
In the 1960s, wood window craftsmen hammered and shaped pressed glass, which always displayed its unique beauty.
Today, vintage pressed glass stock in Taiwan is nearly depleted, made from original sheets cut down for production. We once assisted a film crew by installing pressed glass windows on set, using the natural simplicity of pressed glass to bridge past and present, reinterpreting Taiwan’s rustic old charm.
When traditional pressed glass accompanies daily life in various forms, we realize that what we seek is not ever-changing design, but the emotions each object conveys—its irreplaceable essence.
